Marie Stopes International China
In 1998, Marie Stopes International implemented reproductive health/family planning programs under the United National Populations Fund (UNFPA) Country Programme 4, collaborating with the China Family Planning Commission and Ministry of Health to deliver high-quality services and programs in 32 counties. This allowed MSI to formally begin working in China, and Marie Stopes International China was then established in 2001.
MSIC, backed by MSI's decades of experience of in service delivery and collaboration with governments, NGOs, research institutions, and media all over the world, works on 5 key issues: promoting reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention; communication and behavior change; capacity building and collaboration; service provision; and technical assistance in planning service provision and management.
In China, the government has established family planning programs for married couples and residents, providing reproductive health/family planning education and services. Thus, MSIC focuses specifically on underserved populations, particularly unmarried youth, migrant populations, and people living with HIV/AIDS.Over the past 6+ years, we have made noticeable progress in these areas.
MSIC is publicly recognized as one of the leading NGOs in youth reproductive health and HIV/AIDS education and services in China!

Our Vision
SEX BY CHOICE, NOT BY CHANCE!
MSIC is dedicated to helping young people understand sex and both its positive and negative outcomes, allowing them to make responsible, healthy choices and prevent STIs and unwanted pregnancies.
Through our programs, young people, equipped with knowledge of sex and its consequences, will hopefully make active, responsible decisions in engaging in (or not engaging in) sexual activity.
If sexual activity occurs, let it be safe! That is, engage in safe sex that avoids transmission of STIs and HIV/AIDS and unwanted pregnancies.
Even if an STI or HIV is contracted, or an unwanted pregnancy occurs, our clinics can provide timely, confidential, high-quality youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services.
